Pork Chops with Apples and Pears

This is another family favorite.
Apples and Pears

This recipe is from the cookbook, "Barbarians at the Plate"
Pork Chops with Apples and Pears
4 servings
2 tart apples
2 firm pears
1 tablespoon brown sugar
ground cinnamon
ground ginger
4 thick boneless pork chops (about 1 1/4 pound)
salt and pepper
2 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a 11x8 baking dish with foil. Place apple and pear slices in pan. sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon and ginger to taste. Season both sides of chops with salt and pepper. Nestle chops into the fruit. Scatter butter over the top adn cover the dish with foil. Bake for 40 minutes, remove cover and continue baking for 20-25 minutes. Serve chops with the fruit.
