Receipe Swap '08 hosted by The Natural Mommy

This is my first entry in the Recipe Swap '08 hosted by the Natural Mommmy. I was very excited to find another food roundup to be a part of! Today's theme is Crockpot Lifesavers. I am looking forward to Spring (begging, actually) but it has been very rainy and cold here. Yesterday was the perfect day for a stew. I like to cook mine all day in the slowcooker and serve it with cornbread muffins. To see other entries go HERE.

Beef stew is good, especially on a cold day. I have a friend who gave me a recipe for Irish Stew (it had beer in it). It's very good. I'll gave to dig that out. I've never tried it with wine but that sounds good too.

Do you use a crock pot for most of your soups? looks amazing. I usually cook on top of stove but that looks damn good.

I do the stew and a roasted tomato basil soup.
There are a couple I do on the stove top.
For the stew, I love how tender the meat gets. On the stove top, it always seems tough to me.
Thanks for all the comments!!

That looks good! The only problem I'd have is what to do with the rest of the bottle of red wine! Hmmm... :o

Sorry to hear that spring hasn't arrived there yet, I guess we're a little bit lucky around here. Your stew looks great though! Yummy!
